SplitSpace

Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 August 2026

Plain summary: we collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell it, we don't show ads, and you can delete everything from inside the app.

Who we are

SplitSpace is made by Kode Foundry ("we", "us"). This policy covers the SplitSpace iPhone app and this website. Questions: hello@kodefoundry.com.

What we collect

Account information

If you sign in with Apple and use Hide My Email, we only ever receive Apple's relay address. We never receive your password from Apple or Google.

Household content you create

This content is visible to the other members of the houses you belong to. That is the purpose of the app — a shared expense that only you could see would be useless.

Technical information

What we never collect

Why we use it

Where UK/EU law applies, our legal bases are performance of a contract (running the service you asked for), legitimate interests (security, preventing abuse, and basic analytics), and consent where required.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use:

Data is processed on Google Cloud infrastructure, including servers in the United States. We may also disclose information where the law genuinely requires it.

How long we keep it

Your account and household content are kept until you delete them. Deleting your account removes your profile and every house where you are the only member, immediately. Houses you share with other people continue to exist without you — we cannot delete other people's records of expenses they were part of.

Backups and logs may persist for a short period after deletion before being overwritten in the ordinary course.

Deleting your data

In the app: ⋯ menu → Account → Delete account. It is permanent and takes effect straight away. If you are the only admin of a house you share, make someone else an admin first, so your housemates are not locked out of their own house.

You can also email hello@kodefoundry.com and we will do it for you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email us and we will action it.

Children

SplitSpace is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

This website

This site loads Google Analytics for Firebase to count visits, and Google Fonts to render its typefaces — both mean your IP address is processed by Google. There are no advertising cookies.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for anything significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.

This policy describes what SplitSpace actually does today. It is not legal advice — have a solicitor review it before you rely on it commercially.
